At the Peterborough Regional Health Centre, Palliative Care Unit on Sunday, April 30, 2006 in his 58th year. Rev. Elmhirst late of Lakefield, fought a courageous battle with cancer in the short time since his diagnosis. Beloved husband of Karen Anne (nee: Parsons). Loving son of the late Harold and Marion Elmhirst. Dear brother of MaryLyn Rasmussen (John) of B.C., and Isabel Crowley of Ennismore. Brother in Law of Jack Parsons (Lynda) of Lakefield. He will be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Frank was a graduate of Crestwood Secondary School, Carleton University and McMaster University. He was the Minister at Seymour Pastoral Charge in Campbellford (Hoards, Stanwood and Tabernacle United Churches) at the time of his death. Previously, he held the position of minister at the following Pastoral Charges: New Horizons in Maple/Vaughan; Newtonville/Shiloh in Newtonville; Glebe Road United Church in Toronto; Student Minister at Grenfel United Church in Utopia, and Lay Supply Minister at All People's United Church in Sudbury. Frank's hobbies included Astronomy and Photography. Before pursuing a career in ministry, Frank worked as a Geologist in the early to mid-seventies in northern Ontario and Quebec, as well as the North West Territories. A Graveside Service will be held at Little Lake Cemetery on Wednesday, May 3rd, 2006, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Bill Major of Orangeville officiating at the service. A reception will be held at Community Alternative Funeral Home, 83 Hunter Street West (at the Bridge) immediately following the interment.
