Sunday, February 11, 2018It was with shock and sadness that I read of Pat's passing. She had been involved with the St. John's tutoring program at the Lighthouse/One Roof where she worked to help improve one of our students literacy and numeracy skills. Pat had told me that she wasn't going to continue tutoring last Fall; but, I wasn't aware that she was ill although I was aware that she hadn't been at Church lately. The front pews of St. John's are less colourful without Pat's presence with her red hair! My condolences to all of Pat's extended family.

Friday, February 9, 2018I am a Friday gallery guide who worked alongside Pat for a couple of years. Pat was always the first person to arrive and I was always the second on a Friday morning. We'd enjoy our early morning chat and developed a routine. She had always written the day's schedule on the white board - a tremendous help in keeping us all organized. I was out of the country when I heard the terrible news that Pat had died. I will miss Pat greatly and want to let you know how appreciated and admired she was by her fellow gallery guides. She was a lovely person with great passion and knowledge. I am really sorry that you have lost your dear Pat. Sian

Monday, February 5, 2018To Pat's family, We will miss our fellow volunteer Pat. Her love for the time she spent at the Art Gallery of Ontario, engaging with our visitors was always evident in her cheerful attitude. She liked to dress with flare and was a bright spot in our volunteer lounge where she spent time researching on her ipad and talking with her fellow volunteers and staff. We will miss her, as will you but remembering her in our stories will keep her spirit with us. Shelagh Barrington. AGO Volunteer President

Thursday, February 1, 2018My deepest sympathy to Pat’s family. I also met Pat as a Volunteer at the AGO Grange House many years ago. We were a tight-knit group of volunteers who liked to gather at an artsy restaurant after our weekly shift on Wednesday evening to talk about pretty much anything. Remarkably, most of our group has managed to stay in touch over the years and we've always had a good time when getting together. Pat will be greatly missed by the AGO family of volunteers for her dedication, her generosity with her time, her sense of humour and her laugh.

Thursday, February 1, 2018Pat was a lovely lady who truly cared for others and gave so much of herself - her love and sense of humour - as can be attested by all her volunteer work. She always sent a beautiful card on my birthday and at Christmas. When I was ill, recently, she reached out with many cards and emails to brighten my days. I first met Pat when we were volunteer historical interpreters at the AGO Grange House many, many years ago. She was part of the Wednesday evening volunteer group. Each week after our shift, our volunteer group would have a glass of beer (or tea) and a bite to eat at a place called Frecklebean around the corner from the gallery. Those were such fun times! I will miss seeing you, Pat at the AGO and during our coffee chats discussing your ideas for the highlights tour and other interesting topics of the day. My heartfelt condolences to Pat’s family.

Thursday, February 1, 2018My condolences to Pat's family. I was shocked and saddened to hear of her sudden passing. Pat has been a valued volunteer with us at the United Way Peterborough & District for almost 3 years. She was part of our weekly Front Office volunteer team, always here with a positive attitude and smile to cover our Wednesday afternoon shift on the front desk. She was always willing to step up and cover other shifts when necessary or the first to volunteer for an upcoming event. She was an absolute pleasure to work with. Her smile, kind words and presence will be missed dearly.

Wednesday, January 31, 2018Dear Family of Pat: AS one of Pat's fellow Friday volunteers I shall miss her cheery self so very much and in so many ways. Her quiet smile, her willingness to help out whenever we were short people on our shift; her pleasant manner as she engaged visitors; and her knowledge and understanding of the art in the Gallery are only some of the remarkable things I will always remember about Pat. SO generous with her time, Pat traveled by bus from Peterborough, arriving early and leaving late on Fridays and on training days. She was an inspiration to me, and I"m sure to many others. My sympathy to her loving family, of whom she spoke often with great affection.
